Are We Safe?

To be safe is defined as protected, sound, guarded. Safe, secure may both imply that something can be regarded as free from danger. These words are frequently interchangeable. Safe, however, is applied rather to a person or thing that is out of or has passed beyond the reach of danger...

Safe is being:

1. secure from liability to harm, injury, danger, or risk: a safe place.

2. free from hurt, injury, danger, or risk: to arrive safe and sound.

3. involving little or no risk of mishap, error, etc.: a safe estimate.

4. dependable or trustworthy: a safe guide.

5. careful to avoid danger or controversy: a safe player; a safe play.

6. denied the chance to do harm; in secure custody: a criminal safe in jail.

Nowadays I feel that I'm not living in a safe environment anymore. Everyday I flip to read the newspapers and without fail I would come across either one of the 'unsafe' incidents happening to innocent.

What has happen to the people, the community and the country??

How are we suppose to bring up our children in this kind of surroundings where we live in fear of everything and anything? Even our own house and compound is not safe anymore, what more When we go out with friends and family for the weekend or a function?

Do we have to keep looking over our shoulder to see if there is a danger lurking in the shadows?

Would we have to be suspicious about every single detail that is out of place?

Would we ever have a safe environment to stay and bring up our children in?

This question is and will be left un-answered until the rightful authorities solve and further reduce whatever the reasons are for us the people who live in uncertainty everyday......
